After 15 years of national, international and local experience, A Better Exposure continues to live by that mantra producing nothing but exceptional fine art photography. Steve Kowalski and his wife Joan founded A Better Exposure to realize their dream of helping clients capture their dearest and most priceless moments.
Steve's roots are in California. Over the years, he has studied with multiple photographers, gaining experience in both private studio photography and corporate marketing. Steve holds multiple degrees in Psychology, Business and Philosophy. He lives in Omaha with his wife of 27 years and their three children - Steven, Kelsey and Kara. Outside of work, Steve likes to travel, run, bike, and swim.

Pictures aren't just snap shots... they are memories carefully crafted with three very important elements. At A Better Exposure, we call it "The Rule of Thirds." A careful combination of philosophy, approach, and finished product helps create memories that are priceless and uniquely you.
My philosophy is simple - Love. Laugh. Cry. Smile. Be happy. Be you. And let me use the talents I've been blessed with to capture those moments in time. I approach pictures like I approach life - emotionally and curiously. I constantly look for that "WOW" moment. Using a variety of lenses, angles and techniques, I record every detail - from the intimately personal to the big picture.

Our digital darkroom is where the “creative process” continues beyond the cameras. Here, we edit, color correct, retouch, add special enhancements and design albums by using the most advanced computers and software available. With our staff having many years of design and ark background, we express vision for those lasting memories.
DRESSING ROOM
When doing an indoor session, we ask that you bring plenty changes of clothing with you so that we can customize a look that complements your best features with the environment and choice of backgrounds. If you have newborn children, this is a quiet environment to care for their personal needs.
